Malaysian Academic of SME & Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED)

Entrepreneur Development Centre of Malaysia or Malaysian Entrepreneurship Development Centre (MASMED), previously known as MEDEC, was established in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 1975, with the main purpose of producing more bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sarawak, specifically, and Malaysia, generally.

The following are the strategies in forming and expressing the bumiputera entrepreneurs:

  • Educating the values of entrepreneurship among students in an effort to develop entrepreneurial knowledge and equip them with the latest technology skills through academic programmes and training
  • Enhancing capabilities, as well as competitive and potential entrepreneurs through entrepreneurial development programmes
  • Helping new entrepreneurs develop new businesses through continuous consultancy and advice

  • To educate potential entrepreneurs through education and training programmes
  • To produce entrepreneurs who are knowledgeable and capable of competing in the markets
  • To help entrepreneurs form strong companies and able to expand their businesses
